Take a tub, and fill it with water. You can also opt for warm water for the procedure of self pedicure. Now, add a little shampoo or other soap liquid in the tub. If you want your nails to be shorter, you can cut them off with the help of nail clipper. Some women opt for nails which are of toe length. Have your personal preference in choosing the length best suitable to you. After you cut all the nails, now is the time to file your nails in a proper manner. Some women opt for oval nails, while some women opt for square shaped nails. Again, then is subject to personal choice.

You can smooth out the edges of your nails with the help of nail buffer. It helps to give your nails a definite shape. Nail buffer also helps to give your nails a smooth edge.

You can now opt for a nail lotion in making your nails soft. Apply it on all the edges to make it smooth and softer. Wipe it off with cotton, and apply your base coat of nail polish. Try to apply the second base coat five minutes after the first coat. You can also apply for shine spray once the process is over.
