Is infatuation love?

Often infatuation is mistaken for love. But, there is vast difference between love and infatuation. Love is a feeling which can’t be expressed in words. But, infatuation is a short time fling. Though, there is no definite age in which infatuation can happen. But, it mostly happens in case of teenagers.

 Teenage is an age, where you are confused about your internal feelings. Teenage is an age, where short time crushes is common. You tend to like a person, but you don’t know what your real feelings are. Infatuation is just a part of feeling. On the other hand, love involves real emotions and complete feelings.   

 Other aspect of infatuation is in the form of physical attribute. When you see someone, who looks beautiful, you tend to fall for that person. So, that’s just based on outer appearance of the person. You tend to get carried away by looks, that’s a form of infatuation. Infatuation does not have any real emotions involved. In many cases, infatuation is also in terms with popularity and prosperity of a person.

 Each individual has its own view point. Hardly 10-15 percent of infatuation cases are converted to real love. There are many people who get married on the basis of infatuation. And, then when they realize, the emotion it’s too late. The end result is in the case of divorce.

 Infatuation and love can also be compared on the basis of selfless emotion. When a person is in love, there is always a selfless giving. But, when a person is infatuated, selfishness is involved. There are many attributes in love which are absent in case of infatuation. Kindness, jealousy and patience are some of them. Infatuation can’t be compared to love at any given point. There is vast difference in both the feelings, in the form of legitimacy.
